Pinkie's message by Pika-Robo Pinkie's message by Pika-Robo
I was going to say "your custom content", but I don't want the Workshop flooded with OC ponies either. (Although nothing is stopping you from uploading them.)

Seriously though, we need the rest of the minor/background ponies for the new version of Garry's Mod. Sure we can still access them in the older version (if you have it) but the point is we need to move them over; it's not backwards compatible. Meaning you can't just upload anything to your addons folder anymore, everything must be from the Steam Workshop.

This message doesn't apply to My Little Pony either. At least 70% of the content of the old download page needs to be transported over to the steam workshop. [link] You are not making an "old version exclusive", I would give you an internet slap for thinking that way. We have a lot of catching up to do!

EDIT: Okay, after testing a bit, I have come across the realization that I am a fucking idiot and figured out that porting the old models over is NOT impossible as I originally thought it was, it's just done in a very different way. Regardless, you could still upload to the Steam Workshop if you guys want to; it's always an option and there's no drawbacks. The reason I don't do it is because I don't want to upload someone's work without permission.

there is the legacy models addon browser you can use from the workshop in combination with renaming info.txt to addons.txt

For the love of Mata-Nui, the Workshop might make things easier, but it doesn't mean everything MUST be transferred over.

There's two ways to circumvent the update and get the old addons:

1. Rename the "info.txt" file in each addon to "addon.txt"

2. Use this: [link]

In both cases, the Legacy Addons Broswer can be gotten from the Workshop ([link]) to easily see the old things (othewise you have to go through the massive "All" game file in the browse menu), though glitches might not make them all appear. The ol' MLPPack addon should be alright, though.

Are you serious? That's all I need to do? I have a bunch of old addons I want to use but can't because of the new Gmod. Does this work with like the Video Assistant?

I just figured out another way just after you posted this. But I guess that idea is just as good too. :D

You can just download them from the group and bring the materials/models folders installed the old way. Works fine without addons.

There are already like 5 or 10 custom useless ponies on Steam Workwshop.
And if you have the old addons,I heard that you can use the models by putting
materials and models folders (in the addon) in

C:/programsx86/steam/steamapps/your username/garrysmod/garrysmod
By the way I don't know if it works, because my computer became stupid in last 3 monts and wont let me play garry's mod.

I was more talking about the ponies from the show, like Cheerilee and Colgate.
